About Subscriber Email Alerts

About Kinship Circle Alerts
Kinship Circle receives 300 to 600 emails each day. Many are requests to
“forward this information” or “do an alert about this.” Below is
clarification on what KC posts, and how YOU can help jumpstart a campaign.

What Kinship Circle Is Not:
*   Kinship Circle Primary is NOT A RESCUE LIST. KC Animal Disaster Aid,
ONLY, posts rescue/foster/adopt alerts concerning animals in disaster zones.

*   Kinship Circle is NOT A BULLETIN-BOARD LIST. We do ACTION CAMPAIGNS with
contact info and sample comments. We rarely post announcements, forwarded
messages or piecemeal information.

*   Kinship Circle does NOT POST REGIONAL ALERTS unless they benefit from
national and worldwide commentary.

If You Feel Strongly About An Issue, You Can Help:
Rather then send us a cluttered series of forwarded messages or a single
link to a story — you can help by doing a bit of preliminary research…

For every alert, on any animal topic, we require:

1. A SOURCE OF INFORMATION:
– Send us the link to an animal organization’s investigation or background info.
– Send us the link to news stories with details about the animal issue.
– Or send us links to other sites, blogs, etc. with relevant information.

2. CONTACT INFORMATION:
Research WHO letters need to reach (key decision-makers) and send us
everything you can find for each recipient:
– full name and title
– physical address (address, street, city, state, zip code, country)
– phone and fax numbers
– email addresses / web comment forms

3. SYNOPSIS OF FACTS:
To submit a letter campaign idea, include a CONCISE SYNOPSIS OF THE ANIMAL
CRUELTY SITUATION — from an accredited source, rather than your personal
feelings. We don’t have time to read extremely long or unclear emails…

4. LET’S GO!
Of course we don’t expect anyone to send a “perfect template.” We’ll seek
additional facts and contacts from your starting points.
*   All submissions are subject to editing or rejection.
*   Include your name/email so we can attribute you in the alert.

We Can’t Cover Every Animal Issue:
Brenda Shoss is the only full-time researcher/writer for Kinship Circle
Primary and KC Animal Disaster Aid alerts. She is the sole designer of
<http://www.kinshipcircle.org> and all KC humane literature. Someday we may
be able to hire an investigative researcher. For now, we won’t sacrifice
accuracy and quality to cover everything.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this!
